Joining KGK

SS Kampfgruppe Knittel was formed in april 2006 and has grown from initially having three members to a sizeable group consisting of twenty members, that all have a healthy interest in the history of WW2. KGK portrays the 1st SS Panzer Division of the LAH , in particular the soldiers that served under Gustav Knittel . KGK is a group that crosses all divides in Ireland , North / South , Catholic / Protestant the group is open to all and is strictly non political and non sectarian.

ss KGK is a fast growing group and has a diverse membership , all are fully equipped with appropriate field equipment although The leadership of KGK recognises that those initially joining the group may not have equipment and we will endeavour to assist new recruits select an accredited good reliable supplier of clothing and equipment.

KGK is very careful in regards to who is admitted to the group and all applicants must demonstrate that they are honest, trust worthy, and know the proper meaning of working within a group and the responsibilities that this involves.

KGK also insists that if Your application to join the group is approved that you without hestitation respect the laws of the country that you live in and also visi; NO member is allowed to have illegal guns or gun parts nor purchase any ammunition blanks or otherwise without proper permits from the authorities.

We do not permit the following activities and will expell immediately anyone that ;
  1. Denies the Holocaust / comes out with Anti Semetic Ideology or Race hate statements.
  2. Flaunts the laws of the land.
  3. Purchases Grave goods.
  4. Thinks He /She is really in the 1940s fighting the War.
  5. Causes disharmony in the group.
ss We expect that existing members and new recruits are honest in their dealing with traders and other reenactors from both within and outside the group as their actions will, if dishonest, reflect upon everyone within the group.

The group recently has expanded to include an American 2nd Ranger section and a Russian section, whilst the German unit comprises LAH, HJ, FJR and JM sections.

This year members have attended events on the European Continent, Russia, England, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and America as well as in the North of Ireland. KGK has a policy of only attending shows that are recognised for their quality.

The group welcomes enquires from genuine persons that are interested in the German Soldier of WW2, However I must stress that we are not interested in making up numbers as quality is more important than quantity.

KGK require members that can work both as team players and as individuals that can bring their skills and attributes to the group and to work together with other group members in harmony. If you feel that you are interested and can bring your individual skills, attributes and knowledge to Kampfgruppe Knittel please feel free to contact us.
